PRIVATE ESCAPES
WHEN THE RIDE BECOMES THE GETAWAY.
Some rides deserve a little more room.
A sunrise on the coast. A mountain track. A campfire at the end of the day. A beautiful place to stay, somewhere worth waking up in, and horses woven through the middle of it all.
Private Escapes are built around the people, the place and the kind of experience you actually want to have.
No crowds. No cookie-cutter itinerary. Just something a little more considered.
Somewhere between a ride and a really good story.
NEW EXPERIENCES. OUR WAY.
NOT QUITE A TRAIL.
NOT QUITE A HOLIDAY.
SOMEWHERE NICELY IN BETWEEN.
Sometimes you want more than a couple of hours in the saddle.
Beach before breakfast. High Country tracks. A fire once the boots are off. Somewhere lovely to fall into bed afterwards.
Camp if you want. Glamp if you don’t. Or go all the way to crisp sheets and a decent coffee machine.
That’s the point. There isn’t one version of a Private Escape.
We start with the people, the horses and a place worth going - then see what kind of adventure we can make around it.

The destination is only half the story.
A LITTLE MORE THAN JUST GETTING AWAY.
The best trips have a funny way of becoming the stories you keep telling.
The place matters. The horses matter. But usually, it’s the bits in between: the unexpected view, the wrong turn, the laugh around the fire, and the morning nobody particularly wants to leave.
That’s the stuff we’re chasing.
Go somewhere. One for the memory bank.

HOW FAR DO YOU WANT TO TAKE IT?.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
Just for the day.

A weekend or a few days.

A week, longer or somewhere entirely new.

The good stuff usually starts with getting on the horse.
Every good session starts with the right horse.
THERE’S A CHALLENGE HERE FOR YOU.
Confidence, communication and
problem-solving - all in one ride.
Obstacle work gives horses and riders something to figure out
together. It encourages softness, patience, timing and trust - and
sometimes a good laugh when things don’t go well first go.
WHAT IT BUILDS.
CONFIDENCE. TIMING. PATIENCE. FEEL.
Obstacle work gives horse and rider something to figure out together. It asks you to slow down, pay attention and ride what’s actually happening underneath you.
Sometimes the smallest obstacle teaches the biggest lesson.
WHY WE LOVE IT.
Obstacles aren’t just about getting through the course. They’re about what happens while you do. You learn to slow down. To ride with more intention.
To notice where your horse feels confident, where they hesitate, and how you work through it together. That’s where the good stuff lives.
YOUR HORSE. YOUR PACE.
Some horses walk straight up to something new and ask what all the fuss is about.
Others need a minute. Or five. Or a detailed inspection from seventeen different angles. That’s okay.
Obstacle work isn’t about forcing a horse through something. It’s about helping them understand the question and giving them the confidence to answer it.
We'd rather build confidence than win an argument.
Smart. Simple. Creative.

MORE THAN A RIDE
Why Horses?
We don't promise a horse ride will fix everything. But we reckon a little time in the saddle can make the world feel different.
